Special Announcement

Presenting the award, Bernadette Martin, Chair of the Association, said:

“Vav Simon is nominated for Fellowship on account of the significant contribution she has made to the MCA, in particular the practice and development of Animal Chiropractic.

Vav joined the MCA as a new graduate in 1999 and quickly established a thriving animal and human chiropractic clinic on the Isle of Wight. Having taught on the Animal course at the [McTimoney] College, Vav has always been generous with both her time and expertise.

She served 3 terms as the Chair of the MCA Animal Group and after a break, was nominated once again to the role and re-elected in 2013. As a result, she is an active member of the MCA's Executive Committee, involved in planning and running CPD events and major PR exhibitions such as BEVA and Crufts.

In addition, Vav holds the post of Director of Academic Affairs tor the Royal College of Chiropractor’s Animal Faculty. Her commitment and energy are unfailing, as she attends many meetings and events on behalf of the profession, to promote and defend McTimoney animal chiropractors.

DEFRA is involved in a review of Veterinary law at present, and Vav has been instrumental in the discussions and negotiations which are a time-consuming but necessary part of representing MCA members. The Executive Committee fully supports this nomination for Fellowship.”

Vav Simon has been awarded a Fellowship of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association, her national professional body. 7/2/14
