HOMEOPATHY

This is an approach to health that treats "like with like." This makes it very different to orthodox science.

Exactly 250 years ago this year, Dr Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, experimented with quinine, the medicine for malaria. He came to the conclusion that it was the very fact that quinine itself produced symptoms very similar to malaria that made it a useful medicine - in effect he discovered that like can be used to fight like.

Homeopathy was recognised by an Act of Parliament in 1948, as a safe alternative form of medicinal treatment. It has become very popular in Europe, and has been used for a long time by members of the Royal family.

Every remedy should be individually tailor-made to suit the patient by the homeopath after having ascertained the patient's symptom profile. For humans, these symptoms include anything such as personal and social interactions, dreams, emotional issues, as well as physical symptoms of disease or illness. For animals, the list of symptoms is much smaller.
