The Natural Therapy Centre for Animals at
Ryde is celebrating its fifth anniversary.
Founder Vav Simon said “It’s wonderful to
realise that my dream is succeeding. I have worked with all sorts of animals for
most of my life and I was sure that many owners want natural therapies for their
pets. It’s not been easy, but here we are, so well-used that I’m worked hard
every day!”
Well-known around the Island, Vav works with
horses and dogs as well as a range of other pets, and some animals from farms
and occasionally from zoos, too. Her patients range from rescued animals through
to winners at Crufts and Horse of the Year Show.
Chiropractic is the backbone of her
treatment repertoire. Using only her hands, she can find the tiny misalignments
between neighbouring bones that weaken the movement of limbs and can trap nerves
causing pain. A gentle, deft and accurate adjustment realigns them quickly,
without further ado.
Vav also uses massage, herbal remedies,
homeopathy and healing methods where appropriate. She invites other specialists
to the Island for fortnightly or monthly visits to broaden the range of methods.
Vav said “These methods work. Obviously, some owners start off
sceptical but they are soon convinced once they’ve seen it with their own eyes.”
