Success Stories - Star of the Month

TOBY ‘TORPEDO KNICKERS’ WINN

Toby and MumToby is a 14year-old Collie–Beagle cross, rescued from Leicester RSPCA aged 2. He had been found tied up at a Bus Stop.

In March 2005 he collapsed behind and could not get up. He was losing quality of life and it seemed like the beginning of the end. He saw Vav for chiropractic – because, after all, he had nothing to lose.

After three treatments he could jump up to greet people and jumped for joy when he realized it was time for his walk.

He started swimming in September 2005 and now (February 2006) he can walk, is much stronger on the lead and “he just bounces when he hits the beach!”

His first swim was only three lots of one minute and he has built up to three sets of three minutes, where Vav is happy to maintain him for the time being. He might end up doing more later!

Toby now lives for his food and the Schamkos he gets from Vav and her team after his swim. “It’s the main reason he comes here!” say the Winns.
